BBC SA Film & TV Pay Rates for the UK Film Industry
BBC Option 1 Rate
A continuous period of 9 hours (including up to 8 Hours of Work plus a meal break of not less than 1 hour. Up to 30 minutes of Travel Time may be scheduled over and above without additional payment;.
BBC Option 2 Rate
Provided an agreement has been reached between the BBC and the Walk-On and Supporting Artist, a continuous working period of 7 hours without a meal break (‘Continuous Work Day’). Such continuous periods will normally take place between 07.00 hours and 19.00 hours, or 20.00 hours & 08.00 hours.
BBC Supporting Artiste (SA) Rates
The SA is not required to give characterisation in a role or speak other than crowd noise or reaction.

BBC Walk-on rates
Walk-on Artist is not required to give individual characterisation in a role but may be required to impersonate an identifiable individual, to accept individual direction, and to speak a few unscripted unimportant words where precise words spoken don’t matter.

BBC multi-episodes
When more than 1 programme is recorded in the day additional 50% of recording fee.
BBC repeat fees
Walk-on Artist only = 100% of the recording fee per repeat transmission on UK terrestrial television. 50% if repeated within one week of transmission. This applies to repeats of serials/series.
